The convenience of internet sometimes leads to the spread of wrong information!

It happened in the Third Session of World Baseball Classic (WBC).

Two weeks ago, Taiwan, my hometown, first time entered the second round in Japan. In Second Round, when Taiwan faced Japan, there was a controversial judgment which let Japan runner steal to second base successfully. Because of the judgment, Japan reversed the situation and won that game.

After the game, the Fuji TV in Japan had the analysis. (See the picture)

The analysis said because Taiwanese Pitcher Hung-Wen Chen took more time(1.4 seconds) than Japanese pitcher (1.1 seconds) to pitch, the Japanese player can successfully steal to second base and won that game. Suddenly, many Taiwanese fans share this picture on the Facebook and thought that Japan is so advanced in baseball analysis.

In my opinion, the analysis is totally fake and wrong. In the below picture, we can find it is a 50-50 play. The difference of 0.3 seconds is not great enough to prove the argument.

Most importantly, after I found another picture related to this analysis, I would say the Fuji TV is making fake information and fans in Japan and Taiwan did not check the truth.

In the picture, we can clearly watch that the third pictures that the Japanese pitcher already started his pitching mechanism. But, why does the number still show 0.0 second? We can assume that the Fuji TV manipulate the picture and numbers to match their conclusions. This analysis is worthless and it is a totally wrong message.

Today, internet assists us to communicate with other frequently and closely and get more and more valuable information. However, if we do not use our brain and mind to check the truth about the people and information, the advantage of internet would be lead to opposite results.
